TRUSSVILLE, AL – The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce said ‘thank you’ to Trussville’s first responders for their service to the chamber and to the community at the 3rd Annual First Responders Breakfast. The event was held on Thursday, May 25, at the Trussville Civic Center.

Guest speaker for the breakfast was ABC 33/40 Chief Meteorologist James Spann, who shared the importance of service and thanked the first responders for dealing with the things they run across in a typical day. Spann added that people should pay less attention to tornado sirens, which typically aren’t helpful from inside a building, and more attention to preparation for a weather event. Things every home should have in the event of a tornado are helmets to protect the heads of everyone in the house, hard-soled shoes for walking through debris in case of catastrophe, and air horns to let people know where you are in case you’re not able to call for help.

Presenting sponsor for the event was HESCO Automotive and Performance. Gold sponsors were EIB Systems – Lynn Taul and Jamie Overton; Brumlow Legal Group; and Massey Stotser & Nichols PC.  Silver sponsors were Alabama Hospice Care; BancorpSouth; Bryant Bank; The Grogan Agency; and The McPherson Companies.
